2011 Roots Conference

Presenters

We welcome you to this new, innovative and all-inclusive conference of professionals from education, after school, mental health and public health agencies. We have carefully aligned our conference objectives with the U.S. Department of Education, as well as with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, in developing this exciting 2-day conference that covers a wide variety of workshops from a diverse selection of strands. Each strand will give participants the knowledge and proven strategies needed to give youth the opportunity for better academic performance and success in school and life. We also hope to help you strengthen communication between education, mental health, and public health organizations in your community, coordinating frameworks in order to overcome fragmentation. This will be an excellent venue for sharing your expertise and research-based approaches to addressing the needs of our youth and their families.

Building coordination and partnerships between K-12 education, after school, mental health, and public health to address the social, emotional and physical needs of our youth and families is the focus of this year's conference.
